MINERAL MARKETING

We assist mineral owners in their evaluation of their minerals and in selling all or a portion of their royalty and or minerals by marketing and negotiating on their behalf. We have recently helped to sell over $9,000,000 in assets.

EXAMPLE:
One of our clients was receiving an abundance of letter offers to purchase their minerals.
The highest offer was $500,000. Through our marketing and negotiating efforts we closed for $878,000.

ABOUT

About

Wayne L. "Sandy" Rea II- President

Sandy Graduated from King High School in Corpus Christi, Texas in 1967. He  then attended the University of Texas where he received a BA in Education before moving on to the University of  Houston where he attended the Bates College of Law. He was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1974.

In 1975 he was hired as corporate counsel for Patrick Petroleum where "he saw how much fun the Landmen were having"  and chose  a career as a petroleum landman. Being a quick study, Sandy formed Rea Exploration in 1981 and co-founded Comexico with partner Pete Dooley in 1983. Surviving the Oil Glut of 1986 when the price of oil dropped to $10 a barrel, speaks to his value as business man.

In 1994, 3D seismic technology prompted Sandy to put together a 70 Square Mile lease block with partner Winn Sexton inside the City of Corpus Christi in search of deep natural gas. That effort caused a handful of wells to be drilled by EOG and others.

In 1999, Sandy transitioned into Real Estate Development. Sandy put together 4,000 acres in Austin's preferred growth area. He built and contributed to Pflugerville's current infrastructure, including the roads, bridges, water and wastewater lines, he also built and donated baseball fields to the city. Tejas was nominated for the best subdivision in the Austin area in 2004.

Sandy continues to raise money and drill wells both in Texas and Louisiana.

In 2004, Sandy formed Del Mar exploration to operate wells in South Texas and Louisiana. In 2010, Del Mar exploration discovered 2 MMBO. Del Mar has drilled a number of wells since then. Sandy continues generating prospects and raising the money to get them drilled. Sandy also continues running the Land Services aspect of the business.

Wayne L. "Ozzie" Rea III- RPL

In 1995 Ozzie began his formal training as a petroleum landman. He was trained to perform title work by William F. "Bill" Farrell and Ronald “S.” Meeks who were both working for Ozzie's father. The first two years was all courthouse work learning how to run title and occasionally being invited to shadow the lead buyer. In his 3rd year he began to negotiate and/or purchase oil and gas leases from mineral owners.

Del Mar Exploration was formed in 2005. Ozzie put together a 2,000 acre lease block inside the city limits of Corpus Christi, Texas. Over the next 5 years Ozzie negotiated leases, surface use agreements, acted as company man on a well that blew out for 11 hours (Turnkey)  permitted wells, permitted disposal wells

In 2013 and 2014 he left the family business to become the Land Manager at Crystal River Oil & Gas, who made him an offer he couldn’t refuse, not only did Ozzie have an office on the slopes in Aspen, Colorado he had one on the beach back in Encinitas, California. At Crystal River Ozzie negotiated and transacted the sale and divestiture of $1.3MM in assets and acquired $500k in working interests. He managed 150 operated wells, located in 6 states, and 500 non-operated working interests. He made lifelong friends at Crystal River and left to go out on his own.

Ozzie is the current Land Manager for Tejas Viejo and the President of Old Texas Land And Energy Corporation. Ozzie is a registered professional "RPL" Landman.

Stephen Holt, RPL- Senior Field Landman

Steve grew up in East Texas after graduating high school moved to Austin to attend the University of Texas Steve and has the distinguished honor of making the Deans  List. He graduated from the McCombs School of Business in 1983.

Steve's background is in printing, specializing on the needs of poitical campaigns. Steve raised twins who graduated from Lake Travis High School. Steve expressed an interest in becoming a landman and through his son met Ozzie Rea who felt strongly that Steve was a natural fit and needed to be trained immediately.

Steve began land work in 2012 mapping the Eagleford Shale in Gonzales County. Since then Steve has worked in Jackson County, Texas, Southeast Ohio, Beauregrd and Vermillion Parishes in Louisiana. In 2014 Steve ran title and leased a subdivision in North Harris County and he just finished a job on the Border in Starr County. Steve took and passed the RPL exam in 2017 and is an active member of AAPL.
